Of course nobody paid attention to those protestors. Look at the one on the right. Now, if Yelena Isenbayeva had shown up to the protest in about-to-be-illegal underwear the result would have been different.
 
They banned (Georgian) wine, then (Ukrainian) chocolates, and now lacy lingerie. They just need to add roses, and then Russian guys will have all the bases covered when it comes to excuses for not getting their women anything on Valentine's day.
 
Dictators have whims. Couple neurons fire between their brain cells, they speak, you obey. It doesn't have to be logical or make any sense. In fact you're not allowed to have an opinion about it. It is the desire of your master and that is all that matters, slave.
