Russia & Georgia Close to War

It appears that Russia is going to attack Georgia if they do not do what they want them to do.

It might appear that way if you don't really have any idea of what's going on: Russian soldiers are on orders to defend their bases.
 
Well right now it looks to be just in stage where people talk big. But lets be honest, Putin is the type of person who actually follows up on his word when he starts talking about military action. And unfortunately the US has no credibility when it comes to stopping wars (although we still try to act like we do, but Putin will just laugh it off). Hopefully the soldiers will be returned and all will be well. But a Russian military raid in order to try to retrieve the prisoners is a very real possibility and would likely result in many deaths (not like I really care, but some might).

EDIT: obviously this goes without saying, but Georgia has absolutely no ability to stop Russia in the case of a military clash. I'm sure they know this, so hopefully they wont do anything too stupid.
 
The recall of an ambassador is usually one of the surest signs of a coming war. I hope this dispute can be resolved peacefully.

They are going to have a rough time with the redneck insurgency that is sure to come from the surrounding states should they try to occupy Georgia. Most of them are better armed and better shots than Russian infantry.

The United states Government really does`nt give a hoot about what happens in Georgia or any of the other 50 United States!!
 
I'm much more worried about India and Pakistan. They are both saber rattling again, and both have nuclear weapons.

Isn't this still sort of a Civil War or is Georgia completely a soverign Nation now???
 
Georgia released the prisoners, ordeal over. Of course since it appears that Russia is trying to fund a coup to overthrow the government this will likely flare up again, but honestly Georgia is secrewed, in this world weak countries almost never get their way over strong countires, such is life.
