Russia directed the hack of the Democratic National Committee and other recent invasions of political organizations, according to the US Department of Homeland Security and Office of the Director of National Intelligence on Election Security. The collective US Intelligence Community says that the attacks were intended to disrupt the on-going US presidential election, and given the scope of the intrusions, only the most senior Russian officials could have authorized them.

"The recent disclosures of alleged hacked e-mails on sites like DCLeaks.com and WikiLeaks and by the Guccifer 2.0 online persona are consistent with the methods and motivations of Russian-directed efforts," the USIC writes.

Russia has long been accused of orchestrating the hacks, but top officials have just as often denied their involvement. In early September, Russian president Vladimir Putin said, "On a state level Russia has never done this," but then followed it with a caveat, saying, "Listen, does it even matter who hacked this data? The important thing is the content that was given to the public."

It is an almost inescapable conclusion that Putin and the Rooskies were trying to influence our Presidential election in favor of Trump, the most useful idiot they've had since the Dub said he'd looked into Putin's soul.

Shocker, haha.

I mean it makes perfect sense for Russia to attempt to get Trump elected as he's incredibly easy to manipulate.

Not only that but if trumps policies were to actually go into effect they would damage us economically.

And the right will rejoice in the thought of the Russians bring the DNC and the Clintons down or will reject it entirely as fake. (ok I looked, they already are doing both)

Good timing, new leak regarding the Uranium One thing was just posted.

EDIT: lol, first revelation is that apparently Clinton ghostwrites her tweets. Thanks Russia!

Waiting for a conservative member to complain Obama knew earlier but used private communication channels with Russia to stop it. Obama's too weak!

It's sad that more people are upset about who did it, than the truth that it exposed.

I think it is pretty damn relevant to know if foreign governments are hacking US officials, don't you?

imo it should be law that all politicians *must* use private, poorly-secured email addresses for official business. Fire the librarians or curators or whatever usually involved, outsource it all to China and Russia. This could be an amendment to the FOIA.

Yeah who cares about foreign governments trying to affect our elections. As long as it's my guy who gets the benefit I'm good.

That Hilary reset sure worked well. We should elect her president.

In other news, is anyone surprised that the Obama government fingered exactly who the DNC wants to be the bogey man.

... fingered exactly who the DNC wants to be the bogey man.

I dont think the bogey man needs anyone to finger him out.. He is all over the place... as in ALL OVER the place.
- Crossing borders in air and with subs in sweden finland denmark etc.
I dont want to speculate whats happening in Poland and immediate proxy states, everyone in proximity must feel the crimea and eastern ukraine burn.
- The ruskies is effectively in war with Ukraine right now and has been for some time.
- The ruskies is, hate to say it, but to some extent comitting warcrimes in syria. Barrelbombing civilians? Alleppo? Hello, what the eff are we doing? (nothing, i know, but WHY are we not on the ground?).
- And now openly and admittedly confessing to the world that it is haxing the US election process.

What the hell is going on. The bogey man is pissing everyone in the face right now...

It worked about as well as Obama reaching across the aisle...

The truth is often unsurprising. Deal with it.

Do your intellectuals need another reset button?
I mean, it worked so well last time...

so...doesn't this kinda vindicate Hillary and her private email server? Russians didn't get those, right?

So.. to follow up, what response is proposed here?
Step up web security, add some sort of firewall between us and Russia, sanction Russia, attack them economically?
Or do we just wag our fingers and say "bad dog!"?

We do it all the time. Don't forget that.

yeah, but we don't get caught (yet).

Regardless of who spies on who, you still can't let this pass without public dick wagging in the offender's general direction when they are caught.
