If we could wean ourselves of our addiction to big cars and SUV's, we wouldn't have to buy ANY oil from the middle east.
Don't believe it? We'd need to increase our average mileage to about 38-40 mpg, and there are lots of vehicles that can do that or better now.

most politicians are hypocrites. Al Gore spends OUR money to use airforce 2 to campaign :/ Don't worry, Bush will do the same thing when it comes to the 2004 election 😀
we need to develop water/hydrogen engines that burns clean so we can be self sufficient and we don't have to get oil from middle east anymore. (aint gonna happen any time soon since Bush is pro-oil)

Ahem. About half of our oil use is related to cars and other vehicles. About 17-20 percent of the oil we use actually comes from the middle east. You do the math.
Hydrogen is a net loss fuel. It takes 5 times the energy to produce the hydrogen than you get from it, so you need to use
Make one think perhaps Gore isn't as environmentally considerate as the PR image might suggest, eh?Al Gore really hates big cars and SUVs, why was his fat ass rolling around D.C. in a Lincoln Navigator?

The only place to get that much hydrogen is water, i.e. the ocean.
You are right that demand for oil is increasing, as the process of extracting it gets more expensive. Sounds like a good reason to use as little as possible, in spite of what Texans want to drive. Or Al Gore for that matter.
