Dan, you brought more enthusiasm to RC5 than anybody in DC. I have yet to really disagree with anything you've said, and as you can tell, we're all going to be pretty sad if you do decide to leave. I think you'll be back though; we need you - you're one of the biggest crackers!

Dan, if it's not floating your boat anymore then quit. Last time I checked, nobody was twisting my arm to do DC projects.

On the other hand, I'm doing all this because I like doing it and if I'm going to keep doing it, I'm going to do it for this team.

Why's it have to be any more complicated than that?

OK GUYS I DON'T KNOW WTF IS GOING ON WITH PEOPLE

I am TIRED of people leaving the team because they lost a "fight". I don't know about what others feel, and maybe I'm venting a little, but I think we all need a good SMACK upside the head.

WHAT THE HELL are you guys doing who join the team, get mad, and leave? You join, get all excited about it, then run away crying like babies.

Would you GROW up and act your age. I have been around since early 99 on this forum, and I have seen alot. But this is just SAD!!!!

Now don't get me wrong, I hold a lot of respect for the people here, but what is wrong with us. We are fscking babies. We talked about the SPAM idea, and the very first time it was shot down by D.net explain that it is spam. (This is their system, and they don't want us using the email addys that have been collect for D.net projects ONLY) Good suggestions were made, but you guys got all pissy because YOUR idea wasn't accepted/Used/Ok'd.!!!!

GameBox got shot down(money transfer idea), I didn't take my toys and run off, we found another solution that worked within the rules. Many times people have posted about merging our efforts to finish a single project. But that is not what this forums is about. In the headline for it, it talks about many projects. We (older members from the first war 🙂 ) have seen the trouble and learned how to respect each others choices.

Now if you leave DanC, you are no different then those at the bottom of that list you want to send email too. You are infact worse for getting hopes up, helping the team, and leaving when we need you. This is a sad but true point.

Now flame me if you must, but understand that I still respect all of the people on the forums. DAN's idea had HONOR, but it has been done, NO has been said, and this post should be not needed.

You're the one that gave me the urge to ass laminate and your conviction was enough for me to ask my ex-wife and her partner to crack for TA Cube (they are slow and haven't decided yet). When I go to the Geology Dept. at the University of Ottawa next week, I will be motivated by your example. Don't let a few laughable lesser beings influence your actions. We are BORG!!! If something isn't worth assimilating, we ignore it. If a threat towards us is insignificant, we ignore it. If they up the ante and become annoying, we smash them, then ignore the debris trail in our wake. Flaming is irrelevant. The DPC are irrelevant. However, TROUT is relevant. After all, we are BORG!!!

Maybe you need a little game of Fish-Tac-Toe to relax. 😉

One of the things I would like to see come back to this forum is RESPECT

You can respect a fellow teammate even if you don't agree with their opinion. you can respect a fellow teammate even while discussion pros and cons of an issue. It's not necessary to FLAME someone for their difference of opinion. Leave that to the other forums. That's one of the reasons that I stopped hanging out at the other forums was the lack of respect or consideration. It's one of the things that drew me here, was that for the most part, people treated each other with respect. We had disagreements and discussions and issues, but we didn't resort to dirty fighting, name calling, etc. to try to make our point. We recognized that we were teammates, and acted accordingly.

Danc, I hate to see you go. Your energy, creativity, competitiveness, and "let's get it done" attitude is much needed by the team, and will be a much bigger loss than any blocks you generate. I will miss you if you decide to leave, but I will respect your decision either way.
 


From one Dan to another. I hope you stay. Even us SETI people would miss you Dan, and all you bring to the table here. I enjoy reading all the back and forth of the various MINIteams.....I just hope you all don't get soo upset you tear TA apart.

Seems like things are going wacky across a bunch of different forum sites (not just Anandtech) - as if alot of people are really stressed out... Is there a full moon?

DanC - it was your "Bwuah!" that attracted me in here - that energy that you project in your writing without the need to type in all caps. Truly amazing...

When you have a team this size, you need a rallying point - someone who can rise above the din of the crowd. You and Russ are a complimentary pair... Although I think Russ agrees with your sentiment to get outta Dodge, I would hope that you reconsider being Russ's better half... for the good of the Borg.... for the good of TA.

When one is at the top, one must expect to become the focus of target practice... that's the trade-off and the survival of the fittest mentality. But usually that person at the top got there because they had the b@lls to get there and are one tough cookie.

Off course DanC has balls. The fact that he went to make civil peace with the DPC at their own forum shows grande cajones. According to Hubbs, Russ has nuts too but they are wrinkled. 😉

Dan I care about you deeply and your decision to leave has hurt me in so many ways I cant fathom. I beg of you to stay with us if not for the team but for yourself and me, your wisdom on the topic(s) is great and you are a great contribution to the team. I hope that you read this.
 
Well, I'm trying to be as positive as I can in this situation. Maybe Team Anandtech has become too large. That would explain all the fights between the various members. If a group gets too large, we can't agree with everyone in the group anymore. So maybe that's what happened and DanC is the first one to see it. I hope you will still come here to have fun in the forum, even if you don't crack anymore.
