Check out rush.com for more info.

Here is a good quote from Neil Peart :

Knowing that our music is nothing if not idiosyncratic, and doesn't really cater to popular "taste," we also envisioned advertising slogans along the lines of, "If you hated them before, you'll really hate them now!" Or, "And now-more of everything you always hated about Rush!"

snow patrol - I haven't seen you here in ages! I am still playing guitar of course! I am playing lots of Nick Drake right now. Attempted to get into a bad but ditched it because I prefer to play by myself :(. How's your band doing? I still go those mp3s you sent me a long time ago :) You should give Rush's new album a listen to, I heard some samples and they have a different mood to them than that last few albums.

You people and your tickets! I am emberassed to say this, but I don't even know if they are coming to Vancouver :(. Gonna check up on that now!

I like it so far! Amazing, that there are not keyboards on this album! Just drums, guitar, and bass! It's amazing how they keep on getting better as musicians over time... Geddy really goes crazy on the bass on this album.

thawolfman - You're kidding right?

Man, the sound Peaceable Kingdom is awesome!

Interesting note, Neil Pearts birthday is Sept. 12! I wonder what was going through his mind on his birthday and how it influenced this album :Q

I was going to pick it up tonight but I didn't feel like leaving the house. Does it sound similar to geddy's "My Favorite Headache" album from 2000? I hope so as I really enjoy that (working at perfekt, my favorite heaedache, and home on the strange are the best)

I've gotta get it tomorrow :)

Soybomb - Working at Perfekt is my favorite tune of that album!!! There are definitely similarities to MFH... Geddy really lets loose with the bass now. I find that they have engineered Alex's guitars to be more background sound while the bass and drums drive their songs now. I like it but my biggest beef about it is that it is hard to pickup my guitar and play along with it because there are so many layered effects it doesn't sound right playing it on my classical.

I don't have all of Rush's albums, but this sounds like their heaviest yet. It's hard to believe Peart turns 50 this year...Lee and Lifeson are 48.

mithrandir2001 - It is definitely their heaviest to date... I find it interesting that Rush actually does follow the trends in what's popular... Over the years you can see them mimic the popular sounds of the day... hell there's even a rap in Roll the Bones! I know that Alex really likes the heavy music of today... I believe I read a quote of him saying that he loved System of a Down!

What took you guys so long? I've had the .mp3s for 2 weeks now. I went out and bought a legit copy yesterday after work though. Definately an improvment in sound quality! I have tickets to the July 4th show in Raleigh, anyone going to that one?

This is definately one of there better albums. I love "How it Is," "Earthshine," and "Freeze (part IV of 'Fear')."

I really hope they'll pick back up on releases now *crosses fingers*.
