I don't believe it. Liberal media is just using this opportunity to ruin his reputation after they made a big deal out of the comment he made that offended the media.

Cline told the Enquirer

If any of you are believing this out of a tabloid, then it just shows how willing you are to believe to fulfill the agenda. Rush should sue.
If it is false I'm sure he will!

Hmm... I will have to see what happens, I mean there is always the possibility that Rush is a drug addict. But there is also a possibility that 90% of the members of this forum are female and just pose as men...

If Rush fights this and can prove the tape is forged (if there is one), he could not only sue Enquirer but also every paper that quotes them... Rush could possibly bankrupt the entire Liberals news media. :D

Mike Walker from the National Enquirer said on Howard Stern this morning that they have Rush on tape buying drugs from his former housekeeper.

So why aren't they playing the tape.

Because it's the National Enquirer.

They have him on tape. You're not going to believe it till Rush admits it, are you?

Yeah, and I have a tape of George W. taking political advice from Jesse Jackson, too!

The Enquirer is not exactly known for being a reputable news source. They can make all the claims they want, but without substantiating evidence (and not just *claims of* substantiating evidence), this is still just hearsay.

Interesting choice of words. So felonious abuse of prescription drugs while hypocritically moralizing about drug use now qualifies one for martyrdom?

Oh, and if this is all made up, then yes alot of new agencies will go broke. There is, however, this:

"The Daily News independently confirmed that Limbaugh is under investigation."

I think you are confusing the National Enquirer with MY only source for news.....the Weekly World News.

All of the other papers are quoting Enquirer. They aren't original articles, just "the Enquirer says..."

I was just basing it off Drudge Report

You keep saying the medias Liberal.... why is that? Seems very conservative corporations own the news and they almost completely ignore corporate crime, as well as pro-labor and pro-consumer issues which are liberal issues.

He was accused of taking drugs by the Inquirer. People here are already convinced that he did it. Funny.

As a member of the media, I can honestly say that we do pretty much sit around waiting for any celebrity to slip for any reason.

I've worked on the Oxycontin litigation, and it's very possible that Rush began taking the drugs legitimately and continues to do so now. The maker of Oxycontin pushes the drug too hard for things it shouldn't be presribed for. Example: The drug is meant for severe pain - broken spines, cancer patients on their last legs. It is not meant for something like a broken hand, and yet the manufacturer pushes it like it should be. This has lead certain people to become addicted to something they were wrongly prescribed.

Does that get him off the hook? No, but it's good to know the whole picture. I am not attempting to justify anything.

I don' tknow where you got that from. I'm not really convinced either way, but an accusation from the Enquirer does not really hold much water in my eyes.

While you have a point, I think that in this case, we can use the term "liberal media."

I don't think anyone here (even the most radical) would argue that the Enquirer is conservative.

Isn't the Enquirer that thing you see in the checkout line at the Grocery Store? I may be confusing it with something else.

Got "what" from?

I am not convinced either way either . . . it's an ACCUSATION by his maid; who sold her story to the Enquirer and then the investigation supposedly "independently confirmed" by the Daily News.

Here
The Daily News - quoting a story it says was sold by Limbaugh's maid to the National Enquirer - says she claims he had her buy drugs for him, and gave her tens of thousands of dollars to keep quiet about it, saying it would ruin him if the story became public.

According to the Daily News, the maid - Wilma Cline, 42 - told the Enquirer that she eventually went to prosecutors and wore a wire to collect evidence for the investigation.

The Daily News reports it has independently confirmed that Limbaugh is under investigation by the office of the Palm Beach County, Fla., prosecutor.

Mike Edmondson, a spokesman for the prosecutor's office, said early Thursday that he could neither confirm nor deny that a probe is under way.

We'll see. I would neither be shocked nor surprised IF this turns out to be true (or untrue). After all, Rush is just another human - an entertainer - with all the weaknesses shared by humans including drug addiction.

And finally, I don't care either way.

Wasn't there also some thing about Rush being arrested or cited for cruising for college guys?
