Right now I have a Riovolt cd-based player and it doesnt take well to running... I'm planning to buy a ZEN 20gb hdd-based player soon, does anyone know if zens/ipods/etc have enough shock protection to run with?

I have the jukebox zen, if you go with the 20 gig hard drive style you are not suspose to run with them, at least that is what the manual says, I skateboard with mine, it skips occasionally but has not cuased any damage. Skateboarding is definitly less shock than running, if you really want shock resistance you should go with the solid state memory type.

dont go with an HD based one as they probably wont last more than a few years, or atleast definetly not longer than a flash based one due to moving parts

there aren't that many CF based ones but 256MB cf is cheap to come by these days

of course the RIAA will hire snipers to shoot you under the DMCA act should you attempt to jog with an MP3 player while suing your ISP if it is named V-E-R-I-Z-O-N
