Running two instances of Prime95?

In another thread, someone said to test P4 hyperthreading I should run two instances of Prime95 at the same time. How do I do this?

The other thread said to enter "Prime95 -a" using the command line.

I figured out how to get to the command line (typing cmd into the run field) but that takes me to c:\Documents and Settings\My Name.

Do I enter "Prime95 -a" here? It doesn't work. Do I need to change the directory first?

Can anyone give me some step by step directions?

Also, do I do this dual test as a regular Prime95 test or a torture test? If a torture test, what settings do you recommend?

Thanks

You need to issue command in the directory where the prime95 program is. Unless you want to run it from autoexec.bat. In either case it is
prime95 -a1

Just one more question...how do I turn the second instance of Prime95 off? I noticed when I turned on my computer this morning that Prime95 began running immediately. I assume that I have to stop it again using the same in directory command line?

Scared me at first cause my CPU fan was turned down, and all of a sudden my temps starting rising to full load levels.

You must have it "start with computer" settings, under cpu, disable it.
