on my 36GB (not REALLY 36) Raptor 10,000 rpm hard drive. ONLY "essential program files and OS.

Programs listed below:

AND

EEK!

How to clean it up? I have MORE games that I want to add :( Should I just invest in another Raptor drive and just put games on it? Or remove the ones I am not playing at the moment?

That option seems silly and a LOT of work! Anyone see anything I DON'T need? I absolutely am loving how fast my games load, and think I know the answer to my own question (add new HDD for games only!), but am balking at sopending the $$$

You don't have to install all your programs on the raptor. Move stuff like nero and picture it to a different drive. A couple seconds extra in opening those programs doesnt matter. Just moving those 2 alone will get you 0.9GB
Another thing would be to sell this drive and get a 74GB raptor.

the 150 is pretty close in price to the 74 so if you do decide to upgrade, go with the 150 (especially if you can find it with a coupon (newegg generally has a coupon for it)

This thread belongs in the Tech Support section...

Download and Run basic CrapCleaner (CCleaner) - download from majorgeeks.com. Remove everything that it says to remove except for the Cookies - it kills them all and that's not a good idea IMO. Next, reduce the size of your Recycle Bin to under 100MB (right-click on the icon, click properties) unless you are in the habit of deleting things you don't intend to. If you have Norton's protected Recycle Bin, empty that too and then uninstall it as it's just for noobs and morons.

Now get the latest updates for AdAware and Spybot, go into safe mode and run those. Then run your antivirus in safe mode.

Go back into normal mode and uninstall any programs that you haven't used in the last six months unless you KNOW FOR SURE that you will be using it in the near future. Be harsh with yourself on this one. Be sure you know what the program does before removing so you won't make a mistake. Making sure that you have the install CD (or the install file on CD) for the program(s) is a good idea.

Move your Downloads folder onto CDs or DVDs. Ditto with your images and video clips folders.

There, that should have freed up a good amount of space.

Wasn't meant to be a tech support issue, just accidentally turned into one! Thank you for the help, it is greatly appreciated. I had CCleaner, and just uninstalled it today! For some reason my passwords keep getting deleted/erased in Mozilla.

That's because you let it delete all the cookies (as mentioned above) - you can uncheck the cookies from the selections to be deleted. Spybot and/or Adaware will remove just the potentially naughty cookies and those are all that need to be deleted.

If you have the money, invest in a 150GB Raptor and you will have plenty of room for more games and apps. I am going to get one when I add Vista to my system sometime after the first service pack.

You could reduce the percentage of hard drive space dedicated to system restore.

That's why I don't like Raptors, too little space. Just my BF1942 mods would overfill your Raptor.
