I've fallen into the habbit of listening to audio books while I work. In doing so, I've "read" around 50 books, and have run out of ideas of what to read next. So, I thought I'd come here ask around to see what everyone else's recommendations were. Give the book title, author and a brief synopsis of each :)

I'll start:

Series: Ender Wiggin Series (Ender's Game, Speaker for the Dead, Xenocide, Children of the Mind) - Orson Scott Card

Synopsis:
A futuristic story of the life of a young boy genius (Andrew "Ender" Wiggin) forced into a military life. Full of heart-wrenching emotion, great psychological insite and awesome theories. It's a long read (if you read it as a whole series), but very well worth it. Just a warning though... don't start reading Speaker for the Dead unless you have Xenocide and Children of the Mind ready to go next (It's basically one REALLY long book, broken into three parts). Speaker and Xenocide will leave you hanging at the end without the next installment ready to read.

Might want to change that to "audiobooks" in the thread title.

I've posted in a bunch of the earlier "books" threads (you could search), but they were real books not audiobooks.

Lee Child's 'Jack Reacher' novels. He's a character not unlike Cussler's Dirk Pitt, but the writing styles are night & day, with somewhat less outlandish storylines.

Most good books can be found in audio books too ;) Besides, I do still READ them from time to time.

The entire Vorkosigan saga by Lois McMaster Bujold should keep you busy for quite some time.

The Elegant Universe.....

well ok while it isn't technically fiction, it could be argued that it is.

Wow, "sir" - I feel so special... No more gradeschool namecalling? Or is asshat the only one in your repertoire?

So terribly sorry you find reading too difficult, but relax and know that you're in good company - most people are equally impatient and dull.

Now do you see the difference between insulting an action and insulting someone personally, kid?

Actually, sir, I was attempting to avert such immature actions as what you have so thoroughly demonstrated, by wishing you a good day and leaving it at that. But if you insist on an explanation of the title that I think I appropriately appointed you, so be it. I was mearly pointing that you were, infact, both a hipocrit (by quoting your own signature regarding thread crapping), and an asshat (considering you know absolutely nothing of my intellectual abilities or habits, yet you continuously profess that I'm dull, impatient, boring, and apparently have a hard time reading).

Yes, I find reading a novel and programming difficult to do simultaneously. Perhaps you could, of your apparent superior intellect, explain how one can do so. If not, then I will courteously ask you to leave my thread, and wish you, again, a good day.

While you may debatably have a point that my comment on audiobooks didn't belong, you killed it by revealing your single-digit age with the namecalling. Which, ironically, reinforces my feelings about audiobooks and the people who utilize them ;)

How am I trolling? I comment on a thing; an action - he responds with an insult-flinging only a third-grader would take seriously.

Which is it, backing up a friend? Or are you another one for whom reading is too hard? ;) I'm guessing friend - you two seem the same age.

LOL, you are indeed an asshat if you consider my calling you an "asshat hipocrite" as schoolyard name calling. Giving someone an appropriate title based on their factual actions is hardly the same as simply calling someone an unwarranted slang (e.g.: "childish idiot").
Again, if you have nothing of worth to contribute to my thread please leave.

Already contributed three things of worth; recommended a good author, commented truthfully on audiobooks, and exposed you & your buddy for the kids you are.

East of eden.........by steinbeck
EoE is a sotry, or set of stories set it the Salinas[sic] Valley in California. It covers the lives of quite a few familes, paiting a meticulous picture of the atmosphere in each household, be it good or bad. As the story continues, the myriad of events and characters unfold, the sorry turns into more of a causility piece more so than isolated events. Truely a fantastic novel, with compelling drama, and impecible detail:D I was VERY VERY impressed with that one....

Grapes of warth.........by steinbeck

Haven't read it yet but I have it downstairs.

Into thin air....Krakauer
Very tall mountain Mountain, Verybig glaciers, hikers...you get the picture:D

The great Gatsby........f.s. fitzgerald....

To sum this one up, in short, it is about peering into the life of the wealthy in the last century through all types of eyes, and specifically at at Gatsby. The rise and fall of the money...$$:D

Ok, I'll give you a chance to warrant your comment:

How is listening to an unabridged audiobook so horribly worse than actually reading the book itself?
