i've been running a lot lately, but today is supposed to see record highs. that doesn't really bother me (i'll carry a bottle of water), but for some reason i just really don't want to go swimming! between the two, what's better exercise (for fat burning purposes)?

better yet....run for a little while, then leap into the pool......bet it'd feel really good, then you can continue with a swimming workout
however....I think swimming is better at getting more of a full body workout, and can work on your breathing, but running, you can get your heartrate up easier.
I would choose swimming, but thats just me. Less joint stress, more comfortable.

I go through the same thing, somedays I feel like running, and somedays I feel like swimming. I guess it just depends on the weather and if I feel like changing for water or outdoors. :)

For fat burning I'd say running. You get your heart rate way up there and you're really using the cardio. Swimming is good too of course. If you're supposed to be getting really hot weather, go for a run (sweat it out really good), and then hop in the pool for a cool off.
