Normally, I use a Fuel Belt with 4 8oz bottles on it. In order to keep it secure, I have to keep it very tight and position it fairly low around my waist. If I don't, it bounces too much or rides up around my stomach and annoys me even more. Still, when its positioned right and my bladder is empty, its great.
Here's the predicament. I'll be running the Vegas R&R as Elvis and acquired a very nice running Elvis costume. Skin tight white microfiber jumpsuit with blue and gold arm and leg inserts and shiny sequins. The costume's belt won't allow me to wear the Fuel Belt, so I'll need an alternative. I don't want to be entirely dependent on the aid stations for fluids and I like to carry my own gel and cliff shots.
Since past experiences with Camelpaks has been negative as well, they slosh around and to stop the bouncing, I have to tighten it almost to the point of suffocating my lungs, I was looking at some of the hand water bottles. The 12oz models.
Two 12oz bottles gives me the same amount of water, plus pockets to carry my keys, salt tabs, gels, etc. Anyone have any experience with these models or have other recommendations?
