I ended up working my butt off junior/senior year in extracurriculars and volunteering to balance out the fact that my GPA was less than stellar (I mean, not terrible, but in the mid 3's)

Perhaps you should have spent your junior/senior year focusing on your studies more rather than running for class president or participating in extracurricular activities?

Once the damage is done, there is a limit to how much you can increase your GPA.

Ah, a joke position with CV padding potential.

Honestly, the biggest douches and assholes were VPs and whatnot in highschool.

In college, my class/program VP from my year was actually a nice guy though. Of course, he was also popular and got all his friends (read: the whole class) to vote.
