Does anyone else have over/under pronation when they run? I went to a proper running store and got some assessments done and was told that I am an over-pronater. Does this mean that my running stride is less efficient? Is this a natural tendency or can one consciously change?

A lot of people over pronate. There's ways you can lace up your shoes to help support your foot more to help correct it. Also, there's ways you can actually tape your foot to support the foot/arch and correct the issue a bit as well. Additionally, see a foot doctor. They can give you inserts to correct the problem somewhat, too.

Look up videos on youtube.

It's just what your foot and ankle do in their movement. You probably have flatter arches and your feet tend to roll "in" instead of out or staying neutral. There are varying degrees of it and it gets worse the heavier you are. The typical response is stability or motion control shoes that beef up the inner midsole and reduce the compression and twist in that area.

As for efficiency loss...eh...some yes I'm suure. But your body is mostly going to settle into what it wants to do. Ideally we'd all be perfect midfoot strikers and run like cheetas. But the reality is that we all have odd quirks in our form or body mechanics that we tend to just live with and manage. Run enough and you'll build efficiency that way. Just makes sure to buy shoes that don't work against you.

I'm a neutral to supinator runner and putting me in a motion control shoe is misery.

Well you can change anything. Just start working on doing more of a midfoot strike. A running store might try to sell you something to "fix" it, but the reality is you just have to make a subtle adjustment and get used to it, and go from there.

A midfoot strike is still going to cause the OP to overpronate unless he's in some kind of stability shoe or some kind of orthotic.
