I have a Norelco SmartTouch XL 9160 electric shaver...

Normally to clean it, I take out each individual blade/head and wash them out, dry them, and put them back in. I do this every few weeks because its a pain in the ass.

Would it damage the shaver if I just opened the top of it up, and ran water through the blades/heads to clean the gunk out and letting it air-dry? This would make it easy to clean every day and give a better shave...

edit: basically, is the thing water-tight, or would water running down leak into the innards of the shaver and destroy it...

Pretty sure the head's sealed from the gear within, so it's safe to clean it by running it under water. I have a Braun though, so that might be different.

Should be fine, says it rinses clean. My Norelco lets me clean it the same way.. just run it under the sink.
