Dual screens look nice, but I really don't think I'd be able to handle the black bar down the middle. Something OCD inside me squirms when I see that.
(I'm the same way)

you must have photographic memory or you work on small projects. Personally I get the most coding done with 3 screens. 1 web browser, 2 code screens. With 2500+ code files it's best to have multiple files open at once.Originally posted by: Flyback
Can't stand dual screens. Rather go for a single large one, if I needed the space.
Personally, I find that the more space I have, the more windows I open and get distracted. I get far more coding done on a 13" laptop display than a 24" wide panel![]()

2500 code files eh? What are you, an "enterprise java architect" ?
Most projects I've worked on have, at most, had a few hundred files. Even then, though, I only had few open at a time. Navigating my way around the source tree was typically straight-forward, too.
