Running 3 optical drives?

Just bought a CD-Rom for cheap. I figured I would throw it in my system and not use my DVD-Rom to install stuff. Anyway was wondering do they use alot of power even when you ain't installing something? I never keep a CD in there to keep one active. They stay emty all the time unless I install something and after its done I take the CD out.

BTW I have my burner as master,CD-Rom slave,HDD sec master and DVD-Rom as sec slave. Will this hurt performance on my HDD?

Just ran Sandra for the first time. My 80gig 7200/ATA133(running it at ATA100) is only scoreing 20009 according to it I should be getting 29009. I am scoreing 9002 less than I should be. Could the extra optical drive on the same cable be causing it?

Sandra Drive test results aren't exactly the most accurate things in the world.
