Comrades,

Here's one for you; I'm over my head with it.

I just built a new machine to use as a storage and download box for my network. I got a very good deal on a retail boxed Intel D815EEA2U board and a retail PIII 1.2 GB Tualatin processor (total $179) from a reputable distributor so went with it. I also purchased and installed one 256 MB module of SDRAM PC 133. I'm using Windows 98SE on one partition and, among other things, installed Sony CD Extreme, a freeware burning program that I've had on my main machine for about six months. I downloaded it from the same site, installed it and opened it. It gave back "Run Time Error 9, Subscript Out Of Range". I clicked the OK box and saw "This Program has performed an illegal action and will be shut down". I can find nothing corresponding to a Run Time Error 9 in the Microsoft Knowledge Base, and have no idea why it would work well on my principal machine and balk on this new one. To make sure the download was sound someone else has been kind enough to download the program from the same site and test it for me. They report no problems, the program performs like a charm for them. Its been suggested that I reinstall 98SE and try again but that's a lot of time and a lot of work. I really want this particular program and not another one. Can you give me any insight into whats going on here?

Thats a VB/VBScript error. Its in the progam, and poorly handled. I would check any documentation on the program on why it has that error, or maybe visit a forum specific to that program.
