I was checking through the new list of seti add ons at the seti@home website and noticed a program called Run n' Hide. The prgram is described to "hides, schedules, and temporarily disables the command line client depending on which programs are running." Anyone ever try this program? How does it work?

Link?

Sounds good - maybe I can assim my parents computer again! 😀

I'm too lazy to go hunting 😉😛

Another good page: SETI Stuff

I think hiding the program to keep nosey users away from it is okay but hiding it to install it without permission is looking for trouble. I'm not talking about you CADkindaGUY, just saying if this was used wrongly in a corporate environment it could cause trouble. Don't want another GA vs. David situation...

Yeah - I know Robor 😉 When I built the computer for my parents - a DC project was part of the package...except they keep turning everthing off because they are scared that any apps but solitare, hearts, freecell, and Outlook Express are viruses😛 J/K😛

So I found this information on this program by following CKG's link:

Run 'n Hide manages the Seti command line program in different ways:
- by hiding the Seti program from the user.
- by scheduling the Seti program.
- by keeping an eye on the system: some programs (Corel WordPerfect and Quattro Pro for example) experience major performance problems when the Seti program is active. Run 'n Hide will automatically stop the Seti-program when one of those programs become active. When the user closes these programs, Seti will start up automatically!
This utility was coded by our teammember Hallahan. To make this program work properly, you may need to install msstdfmt.dll using regsvr32. These files can also be downloaded here.

But what OS's does this program work with? Also who was it that had a mojor problem with it affecting Corel perfomance, they should see this?
