but it was a fire tornado! only thing worse? spider tornado.

ok joking aside. fuck could you imagine a F4 fire tornado?

well there was one in Japan back in the 20's that killed like 40,000 people... without any video or radar evidence it's impossible to tell just how powerfull it was, but damn that thing had to be big.

Yeah, the 1923 Japanese earthquake was a pretty terrible disaster:

Tens of thousands of working-class Japanese found refuge in an empty patch of ground near the river. The flames closed in from all directions, and then, at 4 p.m., a 300-foot-tall “fire tornado” blazed across the area. Of the 44,000 people who had gathered there, only 300 survived.

Color me stupid, but you quoted the following:

It may sounds heartless, but on the surface it sounds like Darwin did his job.

Read the article. This was after an earthquake, tsunami and collapsed bridge. At that point the river was probably full of debris and dangerous as hell. And, we are talking about 44,000 people, it's not like all of them were standing right next to the river. Almost half of Tokyo burned down that day.

Why read when you provide me with nice cliffs right there? Thanks!

yeah that's the one I was thinking of... I remember reading about it years ago.

typhoon -> earthquake -> tsunami -> city wide fire -> fire tornado, those people got fucked on an epic scale.

edit: just read up on it again, add landslides to the list.

Remember that area in Pakistan that got flooded with spiders escaping the floods? Imagine if a tornado ran through that area...

When the fire tornado gets too close to a home, Aussie kids just pee at it to kill the fire.

Australia: A tornado will not only destroy your house, whatever is left of it will be lit on fire too.

That is pretty epic looking though. I would probably be shitting my pants if I saw it in real life though.

Turbulent air added to a fire is the way a blast furnace works. I would guess the temps at the base to be 2500F+ and if they stayed in one spot long enough would melt steel.

have you floated this idea by SyFy producers?

Wonder how long the flames can go in the air though, they have to run out of fuel.

Too late, I already inked a five picture deal with them. The first one premieres next week. I'm calling it Night of the Firenados. Debbie Gibson and Rick Astley are the leads.

Ah, well, you're screwed. Seems Apple patented the idea of a fire tornado, 10 years ago. They call it the iFireNado, and your name infringes on the copyright they filed at the same time!
