Whoa.

The Norwegian Dawn has apparently run aground, having stopped in its tracks while leaving Dockyard.

The cruise ship is believed to have come to a halt at about 6.10pm and Bermuda Radio is now assessing the situation.

A Bermuda Radio spokesman said: “There has been an incident with the Norwegian Dawn and her transit outbound to sea via the North Channel.

“She is stationed in the Channel and it looks like she may possibly have run aground.

“We are really just assessing the situation. We can report that there is no water ingress or any pollution at the moment.

“It is very early days at the moment. We will get the tugs out there and some divers in the water to assess the situation.”

According to a source who has contacts on the ship, the captain has apparently announced that the Norwegian Dawn is sitting on a reef.

Norway is a pretty legit nation from what i hear. More economic equality. Better stability, better public health, more happiness

Ahh, Norwegian Dawn, good thing we're not talking about Asian Dawn -- wouldn't want John Mcclane to show up and mess things up...

Hopefully they opened up the bar for free 🙂

NCL will eat some on that one, but they have some of the better ships out there.

Not that it really matters, but NCL is still Norwegian as far as I know.

One of the cruise lines that hasn't been integrated I believe, but still has nothing to do with some other things 😛

Anyway, just what I needed (and wife too....sigh) right before a seven day cruise (different cruise line though).

Don't get in a car or on a plane. I hear those both crash too.

Oh, I really don't give a shit about this ship running aground (hope nobody is hurt)....it's my wife that will now freak out for the next few weeks. She's already starting the 'worry cycle'.

Ah yes. The overly-worried significant other. I know exactly how that goes. You have my sympathy.

Its also just under 95% white. It woud be curious to see what these enclave nations would be like with minority populations well over 35% and with 40-70% illegitimacy rates.

I've been trying for more than a decade to get the wife to consider a cruise holiday. Every year either a vomit comet hits the news or something else to keep her as far from the pier as she can be. Just not sure it is worth the stress of having her forced compared to just not doing it and doing something else.
