? ...although I still think cheney is really calling the shots here..
Cheney and Rumsfeld wanted to bypass the UN..but Powell thought it would go through...
Bush unfortunately is just the spokesman...but at 70% approval rating...he may get a second term. All depends on how he handles the economy after the war.

I hate Bush. Bush is a moron. Bush never won the election. Bush can't give a decent speech. Bush is a puppet. When Bush says he's going to drop the hammer on you, believe it!

Bye-bye, Saddam.

Bush Sr.'s approval ratings were even higher after the first Gulf War. That doesn't indicate at all Bush Jr's chances for reelection. I highly doubt Rumsfield will run or get elected for President.

I say McCain should give it a shot in 2008. Noooooooo to Cheney. That would be a VERY VERY bad thing.

NO way to Rumsfield or Cheney. Both are to conservative for my tastes and can you say Patriot act III.

Oh, how the f*ck could I forget Powell?

Jesus I'm retarded. Yes. Powell or McCain.

Better yet:

Powell for President, McCain as his running mate.

Just think about it. I'd estimate a 66% victory.

Rumsfeld for President? Oh HELL NO.. Rumsfeld is about as diplomatic as a ton of bricks, and would likely do a more effective job than Bush at getting every country in the world to declare war on the US. I am far from being a liberal, but I do think someone with a bit more diplomatic finesse needs to take the job. Powell maybe, on the Republican side.

not sure what this has to do with the war, or the middle east, but Rumsfeld would get less support than Bush.

Rummie is a Cold War era Warmonger unfit for the role of President. No way in 'el. I'd rather elect Barney.

Would a Powell/McCain ticket be practical, though? I can't see one or the other in the feeble VP position.

I don't consider the VP's job to be feeble. There's a lot of work done by them behind the scenes, and they're the next in line if the Pres gets bumped. What if Roosevelt hadn't ran with Truman, and instead had picked someone who was fit for the "feeble" role?

Personally, I would like to see this: Whoever is 2nd place in the primaries automatically becomes the running mate. I think Bush/McCain would've garnered MUCH more votes than Bush/Cheney.
