It's not just that really. The problem is that there are no games and by the time there are games everyone really wants you'll be able to walk into your local electronics store and pick up one of the 100 they have in stock.

I wanted one at launch just to have one. I saw the lines and saw the launch titles and just decided to hell with it I'll wait until they're available. Sitting in the cold so I can play a crappy version of Madden/Tiger Woods is not my thing. 🙂

And RDank, now that you have a 360 you better not retire from Golden Tee! I plan to drink many a spirit and strike many a golf ball while I'm in town for Christmas. 😛

 
I was just over at BB and the teens are lined up, in folding chairs, outside the store. Stretching down the sidewalk, and bundled up against the cold. I bet I didn't see anybody over the age of 18 in the entire line.

The 360's are going for about ~550 on ebay, meaning you'll make 100 bucks for sitting out in the cold for about 8 hours. Is the 100 bucks worth getting a cold, taking a chance of getting mugged, and taking the risk of ebay being flooded with the consoles that they end up selling for retail? Nope... This sucker's going to be sleeping in tonight! (Bad BF experience...)
 
Oh well, I'll be the old guy in line, my sister didn't get me one on the 22nd and I was on a two week cruise, so I didn't get to stand in line myself.

Hopefully I'll be able to get a wireless network somewhere, my D610 gets about 6 hours with the bay battery and my x41 tablet gets 5 and half, that should keep me on the forums all night.
 
I imagine it depends if its core or premium. Also if you are looking at what they are going for near closing time, rather than looking at the dream on buy it now prices.

So that means they will always be 750-800? You're forgetting, with the release of these new batches, prices will continue to fall (as they have been) as more people and more people that actually want the console will have them. This means less people competing with one another on ebay for the consoles. Use some common sense.
 
fvck that.. i am never waiting in line for another cocole. i waited 13hrs inline in front of a best buy when the 360 launch only to see the guy in front of me get the last one
 
i just ran by the south austin best buy about an hour ago.... there were already about 40 people in line. kind of surprising since us texans are pansies in cold weather1 🙂
 
yea, they were lining up outside my local best buy.

All of these moms waiting in the 5 degrees it is outside so they can get their kid a Christmas present.

Why cant microsoft produce enough at launch??

This is kinda startin to piss me off, i kinda want the PS3 to kick its a$$ in sales

Just drove by the store in Saratoga NY (where supposedly 28 units will land), and there are at least that many people bundled up sitting in lawn chairs. 28 degrees right now

Using common sense, i think they'll probly go for near 1K or more based on the fact that people get more desperate as xmas nears; so the decrease in demand will be offset by the increase in fear of being unable to provide a shiny new console for their kid. besides even with this shipment, the demand far surpasses the supply..just my $0.02

but it was not like this for like say.. n64. I think it was released in September and I was able to get one for Christmas without my parents having to wait in the cold
 
My store doesn't open until noon so I wonder if people will still camp out tonight. It's supposed to hit -6 here tonight, which means about -15 with the wind. I think I might drive by tomorrow morning just to see the human popsickles.
 
Remember that the PS2 was in extremely scare supply for MONTHS (like 4-6) after its release. I thought that Xbox had a shot if people would wait a few months longer for its launch, but didn't consider the inertia of the prior PSX fanbase.
 
I'd really like to drive by with my Xbox360 empty box and toss it out the window and watch them all kill each other for it.
 
holy ****** its 9pm in pacific side in san diego.

the mira mesa best buy has over 50 people waiting in line 😵 no more xboxs there!
 
I can't make up my mind whether I should go out and see. It's so fvcking cold. So the stores are opening an hour early? According to website they open at 9AM.
