Looks like we have dp > dvi in the box - just wonder if its active for 25x16.....

As expected. They've got a good bit of the market covered AND like I said can do multimonitor freesync. Their configuration makes perfect sense. It likely would have been necessary to budget for HDMI DVI and DP bandwidth so having a million ports wasn't going to work (for people saying they had space to add t he DVI and high bandwidth HDMI AND all the display ports)

I take back the comment about bandwidth and having to choose between 3DP and hdmi 2.0 plus DVI.

I am wondering if the board makers can't add those things if they want. There is space on the back of the GPU and internally for such a setup. eg. the common configuration for the 970 was DP, HDMI, DVI x 2. But gigabyte did this

The question would be if there is a hard limitation on what connections they can add. I don't think they will do away with DP x 3 but they might add other connections.

Apparently AMD's Richard Huddy when asked about the HDMI2 & cooling details, said the X variant is reference AMD design, no modifications allowed. BUT, AIBs are allowed to go customized Fury variants with whatever ports & coolers they want.

I remember them saying that partners would have less options in distinguishing. Maybe during the e3 show. Guess that's what they meant. That's a difficult situation to be in because you want to sell more than the other guys.

Currently I think ASUS has the advantage with their fancy manufacturing. If they are all the same design, might as well buy the one better made. Only other differences I can imagine would be looks and that I could pass on.

If I had the cash anyway. Pretty bummed about the release dates. All at the same time would have been so nice. There must be a reason they are spread out.

Hate to break it to you but I'm pretty sure the all the reference design cards come off the same assembly line. The AIB manufacturers just slap it in their box and away it goes.

I really doubt that is the case. Reference designs can be given to the partners to build, but for all of them to come from the SAME factory? seems unlikely. Who does this assembly line belong to? If an entire line of GPUs is reference only, do the partners have their factories idle?

The coolers might be though. They likely are

I just compared the results to 980Ti, they are damn close, 1-2 fps difference between them.Is Fury-X is the highest tier or do we have another one above it? if it is the best at this moment then various 980Ti non reference will be faster than Fury-X.I am interested between a oc vs oc showdown between them, also even if it is tied the 980Ti Ultra can still take the performance crown.I think when they went for wc they should have pushed the clocks a little bit higher.I am waiting for the final review results before buying it though.

The video seems to only have been talking about the water cooler being standard. Understandable since they probably have a contract on them.

Back when I had a bunch of 5870s and 5970s, you could literally peel the Asus sticker off one of their cards and the AMD sticker would still be underneath.

Edit: Actually, I think it was an ATI sticker back then.
