Nah I think by 2012 Google will have gotten their shit together and added GPU acceleration to the UI. I could be wrong though, because Android is years old and they've made zero improvement in making it less laggy. Hell even with dual core uber chips in them it doesn't seem a whole lot better. Android really reminds me of a Sourceforge project, all the potential in the world, just not the right talent working on it to actually bring it together correctly.

Dude, I got a Samsung Galaxy 3 recently (Eclair with a 660 Mhz processor) and I get no lag. More likely than not it's the hardware of a given phone/manufacturer, as my phone is not even top of the line.

*Scrolls through 7 pages without a hitch*

Maybe I'm looking in the wrong place? Are you talking about the feeds or email messages updating?

?? I was suggesting a case where maybe a phone would be slow and stated that I have no idea how true it would be as I was making a broad generalization based on my experience with my Droid. Which would lag if I had 7 full pages of just widgets.

I'm not having a go at you I was genuinely curious.

This is my first experience of an android phone, before this I was using an old WinMo phone so I just wasn't sure if I was looking in the right place.
I'd heard a lot of people talking up lag on android phones but I guess its something that doesn't exist now.
