At least they won't pollute store shelves - that's what XBLA is for!

Know what else makes me think the motion controller thing is true? The Spring 2008 update is late at this point, and Microsoft has not talked about it at all. That makes me think that they're holding off because they've got a feature in there that they can't announce yet.

I'm thinking today or tomorrow there will be some cool announcements. :)

Holy shit... VP2!!!!!! Man... VP was the best $13 I ever spent... I would fully pay $60 for such an addicting game!

- I'm obviously easily amused... but psyched all the same!

I don't understand why people keep saying the spring update is late. For one, spring doesn't end until late June. Two, the fall update came out in early December, so you could at least wait one more month before you start saying that something that hasn't even been announced is late.

Besides, Microsoft never really says anything officially about the updates until a week or so before. It's the internet leaks that give us word on stuff a month or two in advance.

I loved the first B-K game on the N64. Didn't play any of the others, though. I'm hoping Rare knocks it out of the park with B-K3, because the 360 needs a great platformer.

Its not the Wii's resolution that is the problem with their FPS titles, its the fact that the Wiimote's technology is just not as accurate or quick as it needs to be. At this point, I'd argue that dual-analog trumps the Wiimote in all FPS games... and I don't really think that's going to change.

Here's to hoping that Banjo won't require this still-rumored motion sensing device to be played.

Naw, the problem is that you still sort of need dual sticks because "looking around" with the wiimote is sluggish - however aiming with the Wiimote is definitely leaps and bounds better than trying to do the same thing with a stick without aimbot assistance.

Not quite sure I'd personally use the term "leaps and bounds"..... I'd rather use CoD4's excellent dual analog control over the current implementation of the Wiimote any day of the week.

BK is pretty awesome though they raped Banjo's trademark charm with the new (creepy) art style.

Hmm, looks like Viva Pinata will have some sort of card-trading thing going too.

# Experience Piñata Vision: Plug in an Xbox LIVE® Vision camera and interact with the game through the use of printed cards featuring a unique barcode. Flash a piñata card up to the Vision camera, and the content will drop directly into the game.
# Show off to friends: Use the new photo mode to snap, print, and upload pictures of your unique garden or customized piñatas to show to friends. Photograph your piñata and turn it into a piñata card, then share it with your friends so they can scan it and put it into their own garden.

What is with companies and online only co-op play.

Seriously, how hard can it be to allow local lan co-op play also.

Reading around, it sounds like the people who played Banjo in the past don't know what they are looking at either. The previous Banjo games were platformers in the Mario and Ratchet & Clank vein. This version includes vehicle building and vehicle combat on top of platforming.

From the press release:
# Adventure and imagination: If you can imagine it, you can build it in the Mumbo's Motors easy-to-use workshop. Then put your creation to the test as you take on Grunty in your quest for Spiral Mountain. Unlike other games, where you progressively picks up new skills or abilities at points pre-determined by the game?s creator, Banjo-Kazooie: Nuts & Bolts puts the power of improving Banjo's abilities into your hands as you build vehicles that allow Banjo to progress through the game. Vehicle parts include a wide variety of body panels, engines, wheels, wings, propellers, fuel, and weapons, plus many more weird and wonderful gadgets such as floaters, Mumbo Bombos, and the versatile sticky ball, from which you can design and create anything from a simple object-carrying truck to a space-age flying saucer. Once you've designed your creation, give it the finishing touch by painting it and choosing a suitable name before Banjo jumps in and pilots it into action.
# Customizable experience: With more than 100 contraption parts and unlimited combinations possible, no two players will have the same experience in Banjo-Kazooie: Nuts & Bolts. By exploring the vast game worlds, discovering hidden secrets, and solving puzzles to win rewards, you will continually find more and more ways to customize and improve your contraptions, creating an unprecedented level of user-generated content for a 3-D platform adventure game.
...
# Enjoy alone or with friends: Banjo-Kazooie: Nuts and Bolts offers a complete single-player and multiplayer experiences. Play through the adventure alone in the single-player campaign, or play with friends in competitive or cooperative challenges on your own or in teams.

ah cool, looks pretty damn nice, finally a platformer on the 360 :)

it may be my player on this macintosh that is causing this, but was the video somewhat choppy for you guys? it seemed like it was on my end more than the actual video.

It was today.

Looks like the rumors of the motion controller and Lips were false. :(
