I think Nintendo was smart as hell in their design specs for the Wii based upon this thread alone. No one looks at the Wii as a direct competitor to the other two machines so therefore it can be assumed that most will buy either a PS3 or a 360 and if they buy a 2nd it will be a Wii since it is considered something entirely different.

do you like monopolized worlds? Nintendo isn't that far-reaching here in America anymore, and with the Wii not having the capability for intense graphics (necessary in some eyes, and I'd agree. Not all games have to have great graphics, but its a great option to have), that would leave the X360 the only great-graphics system out there. Think it may be bad now? Game prices may soar if thats the case, same with addon prices.
You want competition. That's where fanboys are idiots. they want one console and dont want others to exist. You need multiple consoles to keep prices in check.

agreed. games/gameplay will keep the consoles ahead of each other, not just graphics. think about it, the 360 had weak games for launch (at least i think it did), and the wii is shaping up to have one of the best titles at launch (zelda twilight princess). ps3...we'll see.

graphics arent everything, but they do look a hell of a lot better on a next-gen console.
