Rumor: Forza 3 coming by Christmas

VG247 is reporting that a super secret inside source will be showing up for the Holidays this year.

The game is still rumored to have over 100 tracks and 400 cars and be on multiple disks. MS is trying to be tight-lipped about the games that are coming out this year, so we probably won't see anything until GDC at the earliest or E3 at the latest.

I've been hoping for this game to be released late summer/early fall this year...looks like it's further than I'd expected. And knowing more than likely there'll be at least one delay, I'm thinking this will be a 1st quarter 2010 game.

I'd like to know how they are going to pull off multiple discs. No way I'll load discs for certain tracks and/or cars.

Hopefully if it does come out on multiple discs, they can all be installed to the HDD so you only need disc one to play.

Oh great, so those of us still with the 20GB HD have to shell out for another bigger one or suffer big inconveniences.. Bullshit!

I doubt it, methinks that the "cars/tracks" disc + the game disc will fit. I've got Forza 2 installed and lots of random junk and I've got around 5 GB's left. Still, it is getting VERY tight.

My secret is out. I've been using my few weeks off from Forza night to test the preview build of Forza 3.

I'll be Waldo-like by the time it comes out!

Maybe they'll do it like earlier Gran Turismo's and have the Arcade stuff on one disc and the Career stuff on the other.

This is what I was thinking.

That, or the disk 2 is a "DLC" disk - 4-9gb of content that load and then play with the first disk.

So you would rather have less cars and tracks? Ok.

Maybe they would put all the cars on both discs and split the tracks on both? Cars should require less space.

Anyways, is the word still Q4 2009?

One thing I'd wish they do is have a cool intro like the GT series has always had. I mean it's not ganna change anything but it's always cool to fire up the game for the first time and have an awesome intro with great music to start off the game.

Can't you just buy a 120GB WD drive and swap it out after updating the firmware on the drive?

Something like this ?

How would that work? Playing online: "Durnit Bobby! Why are you using that Ferrari, it's not on my disc!" No, that just wouldn't work, it's gonna probably end up being one disc that has all the cars or tracks that you have to install and one "play" disc with everything else.

I saw this on Wikipedia, I hope it's true:
The survey also asks about interest in an exclusive Forza 3 Limited Collector?s Edition that would ?include the full version of the game plus membership in a special VIP program that would entitle the buyer to all future Forza 3 downloadable content, access to exclusive online race events and prizes, VIP status on Forza Auction House and Community boards, extra server space for photos and videos, and a free month of LIVE. The Collector?s Edition would also include exclusive motorsports content not found anywhere else - this could be anything from authentic racing gear (gloves, helmets, etc.) to specially created automobile manufacture gear (branded jackets, etc.) to VIP motorsport event tickets.?

I'd pay an extra $10 to $15 for that, I think I've spent about $22 on all the DLC thus far for Forza 2.
