Rum and Grapefruit juice mix nicely together

I have some Appleton Estate Reserve sitting here and decided to try mixing it with unsweetened grapefruit juice.

It turned out really good. I had to do a few experiments to get the mix just right.

and no, I am not drunk.

no, its not. Its from concentrate. Its still quite nice.

The ratio I am unsure of. My glass isn't that big. I would say roughly one shot per 12 fluid ounces.

Don't forget that rum is fairly sweet.

This would make a nice refreshing drink on a summers day.

When I was in Hawaii there was a local juice blend that went great with rum. You only needed a shot of the juice with a full glass of rum and it tasted great, especially with breakfast.

Vodka goes nice with grapefruit juice too.

You should give the rum and grapefruit juice mix a try.

I like unsweetened grapefruit juice just the way it is, so it may be an acquired taste.

Perhaps mixing in a another fruit juice with this combo would be even better.

I've been drinking 3 parts spiced rum + 3 parts OJ + 2 parts peach schnapps.

I had about 24 oz of that on Saturday and I was pretty gone.

Rum mixes well with most fruits. the more tropical the better. (typically)
