Rules/regulations for RC5?

Was wondering if it is ok to do the following.

I have access to some University computers in the labs. While I am there, is it ok for me to run RC5? These are general labs and was just curious.

Now if that is ok, how about this.

There are usually 3-4 computers in my immediate area that are not being used. Can I use these computers as well?

And BTW, I would not leave these computers cracking if I left. I would uninstall and remove it. I know this may seem kind of lame to some of you but this is actually quite a bit of cracking time, especially for computers that aren't doing anything most of the time. I take night classes as well (about 12hrs/week) and if I can get 10 or more computers cracking, then that's about one entire computer that's cracking. Also I know it'll be a pain to setup and uninstall these...

Which leads to my next questions.... is there a way to copy the client and run it from a CD or something but have the buffers preconfigured to dl to HD? Or is there a much simpler way to run this?

The guidelines set by DNet are pretty clear. If you don't own them or have full admin permission from the person/company/school that does own them, then you should not run the client on the computer.

I ran afoul of this myself, because I had permission from my Department Manager and had admin level access, but when the corporate IT people started asking about the TCP/IP packets going in and out, they didn't take it well. I had two visits with Security before things returned to normal, minus about 60 heavily producing cows. The bigger the organization, the harder it is get full and complete permission.

You should talk to the admin first. Either try to explain the full story or just say you have some analyses you need to run. If you run the client from a floppy, you don't have to install anything, which might make it easier for you.
