Who has heard of the band "Rufio"? I've been listening to them for a little while, and I think they are pretty good. What do you guys think, for those of you who know who they are?

Different kinds. Some is very punkish, some is very far from punk. I'll name a few songs so you can look them up :

-Tears
-She Cries
-One Slowdance
-Hallow Cries
-Above Me
-Just a Memory
-Face The Truth
-Raining in September

Check 'em out. I think they are pretty damn good.

Edit: Face the Truth starts off with really nicely played acoustic guitar. Hallow Cries has no lyrics, and it's cool kinda mellow. One Slowdance would probably be a hit by them. Very good. She cries starts off with bass I think, and it's pretty catchy... normal beat, sounds good. Above me is interesting... starts off kinda funny, then turns into really sweet punk IMO... very fast beat, etc. Just a Memory is another punkish song by them.. really good also, I think. Rainin in September is.. I don't know, I can't explain all these. Listen up for yourself. Great stuff.
 
"Stop Whining" is also an awesome song. I also like "In My Eye". They're all different, and all really good. "Still" is pretty kickass as well... some nice bass in there. I find they put their stuff together really well. Also check out "The Wrath"... There's some crazy guitar in there. Road to Recovery and "Selfishness" are both good songs as well.

Damn, I don't think I can FIND a bad song by them. :Q

I've heard OF them, never heard any of thier music though.

I have to admit, I thought of the kid in Hook when I saw the title, too.

huh? They aren't "bad pop punk"... I wouldn't really call them punk, even though some of their songs are punk. I hate people who are obsessed with "real punk" and diss any other band who has SOME songs that sound punk. Ugh. Listen to "Directory Type", that's a very different song. Listen to "Save The World".. very punk. Also check out the song "Dipsh*t" by them.

They have so many good songs...

I'll check out the bands you mentioned too, though.

i dont like them, they have a generic sound, they are interchangeable with blink182 and new found glory. i have listened to them before. i downloaded their cd and deleted in within 10 minutes.

WTH? Blink182 and A New Found Glory? Holy crap... Man, you are quick to draw conclusions. Did you hear all the songs I listed? how much blink and new found glory have you heard? Some blink is actually quite good, although most of the stuff with whiney I don't like. New Found Glory is too whiney for me, and I haven't heard anything good from them. Rufio is very different from those two bands.

Another thing I may want to comment on, is try playing the music you listen to. If you can pick it up in 2 seconds, you're not listening to very good music (musically). I've listened to LOTS of Blink 182, and I can tell you that I can play any one of their songs, and it won't take me more than a few minutes to learn them. Rufio on the other hand, just by hearing the songs, I can tell that it'd be 100x more difficult to play.

I downloaded propagandhi but no jawbreaker, couldn't find any.

Rufio does not sound pop punky to me. I don't care who they are physically and if they're 15 year olds, good for them. The point is the sound they're making is good. If they're "trying to be punky", yay for them. Could you play that? 😉

LISTEN to the songs I downloaded. You'll realize that a lot of them are actually very good.

Alkaline Trio sounds good.

Don't sound any "better" than Rufio. They do sound different. Hmmm, what do you know, vocals... yeah, I think I've figured it out. You guys automatically label any band that has a vocalist with a certain type of voice. I see ... hmmm.. how sad. lol.

Rap? wtf? What are you, on crack? Everybody knows Rufio is CLASSICAL, man! :Q 😛

You just sounded like you were dissing them for no reason. They actually have some talent, unlike so many of the so-called "pop punk" bands.

Thursday and Alkaline Trio sound pretty good so far. I wouldn't say "better" than Rufio, but they are different. i like all three of em.
