I just got back from a stop at a Brazilian-American bakery (paderia) where the food is sooo good. I stepped in and ordered a... crap, forgot the name. Tasty chicken thing. I ate it while the rest of my party chose pastries. I got in the informal line to get another, which was just people stepping up to the counter. After the lady helped someone, I pointed at something and asked what it was before the other guy ordered, not intending to cut in line. The lady behind the counter didn't speak english so well so she just took one out and gave it to me, and I paid my dollar. I tried to apologize to the other guy, but he had this look on his face like 'WTF, rude American' :(

Sorry!

UPDATE: I've repaid my debit to society. A girl came into CVS today and she was 60 cents short on a purchase for a pregnancy test. She seemed like a nice girl and everything, I spotted her the 60 cents.
