There could be a reason I put starcraft much lower on the list of RTS than most 🙂
Agreed.
Despite how Blizzard labeled it and how people percieved it, Starcraft is a poor example of an RTS. Its more like a resource war set in real time, which isnt nearly as much fun as a true RTS or a turn-based resouce war.
Total Anihilation, TA: Kingdoms, Dawn of War, Act of War, the Homeworld games, and maybe Company of Heroes are actually much better examples of true RTS's.
Also Z and Steel Soldierz.
