RTKHDA64.SYS BSOD

I have been using this motherboard with XP Pro X64 succesfully for a month or so now, but I got my first BSOD the other day when my son was playing on it. The game is Simpsons Hit and Run which works fine up to a certain point in the game and then every time there is a BSOD which mentions RTKHDA64.SYS - the Realtek HD driver. I have tried updating the latest audio drivers from the Asus site but the same thing happens. Has anyone any ideas (apart from disabling the sound of course!)

1. Contact Realtek
2. Contact the game vendor
3. Buy another sound card

Thankyou, but I prefer to use the onboard chip as 64bit drivers for soundcards are not exactly easy to find. The mobo by the way is Asus P5W DH Deluxe

The basic issue is that driver has a problem. You can keep using it, but unless the game reprograms how they talk to that driver, I suspect you'll keep having the problem. It's a flaw in the driver, not the game; a driver should never be able to BSOD a machine.

Well, to solve the problem which also happened in a few other games I got myself an old Soundblaster Audigy with 64 bit drivers, disabled onboard sound and my son is happy again.
