RTCW: Help me before I shatter my monitor...

I'm frustrated. I am not new to this "PC Game-thing." I've played 'em all. Well, most of 'em. I know there are always two ways in/out. Secrets are there., etc. But this sh!t has me kicking my desk and that is not cool.

According to this, I just follow allong and all is well. It's not. Honestly, I tried it about a million times BEFORE I went looking for the walkthru...and I have't read ahead either.

The walkthru is wrong. I can't make it to the truck w/o getting spotted. You can't kill the remaining guard, as he's the one that has to open the gate. The only way (that I see, obvioulsly) to make it to the truck is either straight ahead or hugging the right wall, where the power boxes are. Either way, I get spotted. Help me out here. I wish I could figure it out myself. Please?

See the second to last pic at the bottom? As soon as I'm there, I get spotted. This is BS. I've read many folks that said this is their least favorite board of the entire game b/c of this damn part. :|

If you have the Snooper Rifle, you should be able to get off a silent shot to kill the guy who's pacing back and forth at the back of the truck. Also, make sure that there guard walking around the top of the water tower in the center of that camp is dead, and the body out of sight of the last guard. When you've done that, watch the last guard by leaning around a corner way away from him (near the power boxes). When he's walking away from the truck, run like hell!!!!

Oh, and, yes, you hug the wall on the right-come up behind the truck by walking between all the stacks of boxes on the loading ramp. The guard cannot see you at all from his position that way.

I've done it, and it's not a problem for me.

Man I had the exact same problem, and I finally figured it out. But that was a month and a half ago and I forgot how to do it. Good Luck!

If you think that the "last" guard is the one standing on the loading dock near the truck then you are mistaken. There is still one more guard standing ny the tunnel entrance, this is th guard the walk thru is talking about. Simply use the Sniper rifle to kill the guard on the loading dock and go get in the truck.

LOL michael, I had the SAME exact problem! The guides say you can do it without getting spotted, but I never could. Here's how I did it:

Killed the guy in the little hut and made sure the guys in the towers/on the ground couldn't see me. I proceeded to walk against the mountain on the right and side behind all those hills (note I said walk, not run, or they will hear you) until you get to an opening. There should be a tower to your left w/ a sniper in it. Walk up to him and into the tower (he can't see you go up if you walk and not even if you are right behind him). Waste him and destroy the alarm in the tower. Go back down and around the mountain the way you came. You should be at the hut again. Approach as close to the bridge as possible without being seen. Here's the tricky part, save right now...

As soon as both the guards are as far away from the alarm as possible, haul a$$ down the bridge w/ your mp5 or thompson and pump those nazis full of lead ASAP and make sure they dont trigger the alarm. This isn't as difficult as it sounds, but you may take some damage. Now there should only be the one guy in that tower that's right near the middle of the bridge. He is fairly easy to take out. You should save immediately after taking out the 2 guards on the bridge while whistanding as little damage as possible so you have more life to deal with that guy. Then you're home free! Take all their ammo and proceed.

Well anyways, for that part, I sat in the window and took out the guy on the loading dock and then walked through to the boxes where he was walking and then took out the other guy. I thought that was an easy part but I guess I was lucky.

Thanks guys. One thing I noticed in the link I posted earlier; the last guard is "pacing". See it? When I offed all the other guards (they are ALL dead...after the alarm goes off, I run around until the screen fades out..to see for myself) after I offed them, that last guard got stuck on "alert>" He doesn't move from in front of the shack. Sh!t. I may have to start the level over.

I must've done something wrong...I'm gonna have to start over. That final guard WILL NOT FREAKIN' move from in front of the guard shack. There are NO other guards on the damn map.

Sh!t, I even went and found the other parachute (with the .45, not the Snooper..got that earlier) to ensure I wan't missing any objectives. I made sure there was no one else alive anywhere on that map except myself and the final guard. Sh!t. I guess he's dong the "UT Bot Running in Place" thing...or something liek that. Yes, I know RTCW uses the Q3 Engine...I was making an analogy. Sh!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!1111t. Well, off to bed. Tomorrow's another day. Thanks all.

just what i did. found out the plan when i pressed the notebook key "n". Have to go to the right and follow the mountain. THen when the ppl are opening the gates n busy with the truck, make it thru the opening....

Nope. You're thinking of the first time you go thru the "blast doors" (that's what I call them) when there are two guards standingthere as the truck drives away...that's the entrance to the area where the compound is. I'm talking about the final guard.

Allrighty then, I'm screwed. I have this bad habit of not wanting to take up too much disc space, even though I have a 78GB drive; I overwrite my saved games. So, basically, I have to start the whole game over. Dayuum, those zombies were really hard. \

Well, I guess if the game was easy, I'd be pissed off that I wasted my money! At least I've something to do for the next few days.

Dude, just come at the truck from the back of it (Sneak through the raised platform it's backed onto). Don't approach it from it's side. Of course the guy is gonna spot you like that.

This is a really poor spot in the game, it gave me fits as well. I actually made it into the truck a couple of times but nothing would happen. Finally it worked, but I didn't seem to do anything differently than the times it didn't.

That level was pretty easy, just use basic military tactics and stealth, and you'll win easily.

I know! I know! The problem is that the guard is standing next to the guard shack, facing out. His field of vision is really wide! Even if I go back to main entrance gate, climb up and try to run on top of the wall to get to the loading platform, he sees me.

I think I "stumped" the game somehow...maybe the order that I did things messed up the enemy AI and put it on high alert...maybe I"m just rationalizing a bit too much?

I can't GET TO the platform w/o being spotted....how I wish I didn't overwrite my saved games! I can't even start at the prior level..I over wrote that too.

I will give it another shot tonight. If not, I'll start the game over. It's all good, though.

Not nearly as hard as the burning restaurant in MAX PAYNE.
