So I think I'm finally ready to adopt RSS reading fully. (I know, a bit late?). I'm using Google Reader + iGoogle, along with the quick bookmarklets it seems to work great. Now I need to tweak which feeds I follow, so far I've only got a dozen or so which seems like a good start.

Which RSS reader do you use?
How many feeds do you follow?
How does it fit into your routine?

I wrote my own web-based viewer, because none of the ones I tried would do exactly what I wanted it to (specifically, I wanted to fit as many feeds as possible onto the screen at one time, but at the same time have easy access to older items in each feed; I also wanted pictures displayed inline, but with a limit on their physical size and the ability to click to view the full-size image in a popup (modal or otherwise). I had really specific desires, so I wrote something that did exactly what I wanted it to do.

I set that page as my homepage, so I never forget to read Dilbert, XKCD, etc.

I don't use one anymore, but when RSS was just starting out I wrote a reader to do what I needed. I stopped modifying it after comments and later images were first included as part of the RSS spec. I also stopped following RSS feeds at that time, because I just couldn't keep up with the dozens of subscriptions that I had.

[edit]Forgot to say that I had used SharpReader for some time and liked it.[/edit]

I just use Google Reader. It has most of the functionality I want and is available from anywhere I have internet.

Google Reader.....26 feeds. Some days I keep up with them throughout the day. Sometimes I only get to them every other day and they really pile up. Works perfectly for me.

I use the Brief add-on for Firefox. Maybe it is not needed with the Live Bookmarks or whatever they are in FF 3.0. I don't use it much at all anymore. It is good though.

I use google reader with igoogle for most locations but have been using outlook 2007 built in rss reader at work and have been liking that. The real nice part of doing it that way is I can view my rss feeds on my iPhone also.

Opera. About 30 feeds. Skim through when I get home from work to get rid of things I don't care about, then go back to read the rest as time permits.

Used to use sharpreader, but got tired of having to keep my list of feeds synced between home and work computers, etc, so for a couple years now I've been using Google Reader. It is indeed the best, double true.

I had been using Trillian for it, but Opera does it perfectly... just pops up a notifier in the bottom right... or just go into the Feeds menu for a full history.
