I'm aware that this forum is normally for problems with the forums themselves, but I couldn't seem to find a better place to mention this...

The /weblog/something now used in the rss feed without including the full Anandetch site address is not compatible with Thunderbird under Ubuntu or Windows at this time. Thunderbird tries to litterally find that address, and fails, resulting in a total inability to get to that page short of visiting the main site and clicking through sections until you find the story manually.

Thanks,
Zeta

I have found an error in the Anandtech feed. Some (most?) RSS readers will assume that the value for <guid> is a permalink to the article content unless if the "isPermalink" attribute is set to false. Here is a copy/paste of the <guid> tag from the AT feed:

XML is case-sensitive... Whoever built the AT RSS feed set an attribute called "ispermalink" to false, but that attribute means nothing to most RSS readers, they're looking for one that is called "isPermalink" (with a capital "P").

edit:
Here's a link to the spec: http://cyber.law.harvard.edu/r...gtSubelementOfLtitemgt

That needs to be fixed.

Not sure when it was fixed, but the bug I mentioned in my post above has been fixed. All of the readers I use now link to the Anandtech articles correctly.

yay!
