Set other projects to "no new work".
Increased cache-size from normal 0.01 days.
Forcing other projects downloaded tasks to finish before race-start. (doesn't apply to CPDN).
Upgraded computer.
Stocking-up on drinks and "junk-food" to watch the progress of the race. Not done.
Meaning, not ready for race.

All comps checked and vacuumed - all in great shape.
All other projects out of work - and set to "no more work".
Seti@home as only active project.
Optimized apps loaded for all Linux and Windows comps.
Cache set to 3 days.
Beer and Coke cool.
Salted peanuts purchased.
Pizza phone number close to phone.
Children and Significant Other informed and placated.
Bed moved to computer room.
Excel fired up on hand-held (which can not be used for crunching)
Opera fired up on 386-laptop (too old to crunch), stats-sites preloaded.
No more other WUs in all systems.
Only 15 500 credits pending ...
Upgraded from a 6-year-old MP1600+, Tyan-2460, 1x512 MB DDR266 Reg/ECC... and an old Matrox-G200Originally posted by: Assimilator1
What did you upgrade btw?
We cannot control you, but please just play it fair. So, connect to Berkeley just before the start of the Gauntlet, to send in all your results. You cannot control your pending credits, so don't worry about that.
It's always normally with some pendings in SETI, a quick look shows 1296 for me... Hmm, if the pendings is anything to go by, petrusbroder should have atleast 10x higher production than me during the race... :beer:Originally posted by: Assimilator1
15,500 credits pending? you don't mean a megaflush do you? if so you'd better flush them before the race as that's against the rules
Well, how many of these "stable", overclocked systems craps-out in the middle of a CPDN-model...RD
Nice upgrade ,no overclocking?:Q booo
Pitty though ,the E4x00s usually o/c to at least 2.6-2.8GHz.
Brown pins isn't the only reason decided against trying to keep the system running any longer. It has for a long time been "temparamental", with refusing to boot/re-boot on 1st. try, and every time adds/removes anything it seems to land in infinite re-boot-loop that has only been fixed by resetting bios...Btw the browned pins will be due to the terminals splaying open on the PSU ATX plug ,making a loose connection.Tighten the terminals with a tiny screwdriver & that old rig would be good to go again
