Can anyone help me hypothesize on why my connection gets shut down everytime I start downloading a huge file. I could be downloading music samples from certain sites and I'll get my connection shut off. The cable light on the modem will just start to blink. It's quite irritating when I'm downloading legit stuff and I can't even complete the dl because my connection gets knocked off. HELP?

Call up RR. They have tech support, no?

If there's some sort of filesize limit, they should be able to tell you.

If there is, you'll have to get a program like GetRight that can resume downloads. Just remember to rerun adaware, as most are Chocked Full of Spyware (tm).

I have RR.

The only thing I can think of is that you have a lot of other users on your node, and during your heavy usage combined with everyone elses', you somehow "overload" the connection and you get booted.

OR, or, or, or.....

You have a weak signal to begin with. I had this problem, except my symptom was major packet loss. It took four months and tens of phone calls, but the finally sent some 18 year old contractor kid out and he ran me a separate line direct from the box to my wall. :) I have two cables coming into the house; one for RR TV and one for RR IS{P.
