RPN?

RPN is cr@p, its the most unnatural way of doing things ever. Personally, when I write equation or thing about them I do so in order not postorder. (5+x)*(x-3) makes sense, 5x+x3-* just doesn't make ANY sense to me.

While that was my initial response, but i know some otherwise very intelligent people who swear by it, so i think it would be somewhat presumptuous of me to write it off without using it for a while

I only have one RPN calc, it's an old russian thing that is also programmable. Kinda neat, bought it mostly for novelty and don't use it often...

Any idea what the cheapest new RPN calc is these days?

Might just pickup a HP 33s, they look neat

Maybe I'll buy one too, to replace my HP41CV.
Too hard to find N batteries for the 41CV.

I still regularly use both my old HP 15c, and HP 48G, both of which are RPN.

Well, i picked up a HP 33s, and it totally kicks ass

Now to master a small fraction of the 11ty billion things it does...

& yeah, RPN is awesome

i dont know, but i dont see the point of RPN for end-users. I am not sure if it is faster computationally, though.

It always is, as far as i'm aware.

It also allows you to do calculations the way you would on paper, and allows you to see the individual result of each of those 'sub-calculations'...
