As an avid RPG player and WoW addict, i found Dragon Age:O very disappointing, regardless of all the rave reviews. I played it some hours but sadly never "got into it".
The biggest gripe i had with the fight system and those stupid "multiple choice" questions/answers which seemed very out of place to me. The graphics (for a single player game!!) were also rather underwhelming and often simply on WoW level.
There is also a big limititation in how you can move around with your character. I remember standing on a hill and wanting to go down that hill, but simply couldnt since the game-engine didnt allow me to go down that small hill but "forced me" to take the path around it.
All in all disappointed and i am not sure whether i will continue this game.
--> Right now wife is playing Oblivion (again) on the big screen (on a very old PC!!) and i am totally amazed how good it looks and how well it runs on that old PC. (Single core AMD 64 and some el-cheapo Radeon 4350 which cost barely $50 shipped)
I never noticed this before, maybe the Xbox 360 version just didnt look that great so i didnt pay attention when she played it on the 360.
Oblivion is one of the few (if not the only one) RPGs were simply everything feels "right" in terms of RPG "flair", graphics, etc..etc.. IMHO
