Roxio (Adaptec) Easy CD Creator 5.01 $10 + shipping

not to thread crap....but is this worth having? The power DVD is a good program tho. I have ezcd 4.02 and stopped using it. I use NTI 2000 with my lite-on with no coasters.

Just be careful with EZCD5. It can trash your system if you install a certain module in the package...

I have used ezcd 4 for about half a year before switching to nero. I tried ezcd from a new burner I bought. Totally disliked the crap. Switched back to Nero! 🙂

Just a silly question.....how much is the cheapest for Nero? If I don't get it with my burner....

How about B's whatever that come with Sony?

I know this question doesn't belong here......

By the way, good deal if someone need that program....I had been using EzCD since 3.0, but switched to Nero when I have 4.0.....

This is the Basic version which I think sells for $50 retail. The Platinum version that has more features sells for $80-90.

Too bad Roxio isn't supporting version 4.0x in XP 🙁

<< Just be careful with EZCD5. >>

For some burner like Lite-on, you have to update it to 5.02. EZCD 5.02 works with major burners.

Well, in fact, I didn't have very bad experience with it....but just don't like it too much. For $10, it is not too bad, but it is not a program that I would spend $50 or $90 for it..... Of course, if Nero is $10 too, I will choose Nero..😛

I used to use Nero on Win9x but after I switched to XP it went dead on me.
It would burn cd's "successfully" but you wont see any files on it.
So, beware XP users.

Oh, really? I think I will move to XP on my desktop after my notebook.... oh....what program will work with XP? Does XP come with a CD burning program? I don't know that even I am using XP for this message....😛

yah, mwave charges shipping even if you pick it up at the store.

I believe this version requires a cd key. So make sure it comes with a key if needed.

If I'm thinking correctly, the basic version only comes with the EZCD and CD copier modules. No DirectCD, MP3->Audio, MP3 encoder(?), and the other frilly things. If all you need is the EZCD module and your CDRW drive didn't come with Roxio and you want it, this looks like a good cheap investment.

edit: oops, don't listen to that ranting madman tenchim since he obviously doesn't know what's he's talking about. 😛 Follow yellowperil's link for the real info.

Here's a feature comparison among the last three versions.

Looks like 5.0 Basic is stripped down from 4.0 Standard, in that it doesn't include a CD Label Creator, or create Mixed Mode or Enhanced CDs 🙁. It still does on-the-fly MP3-to-CDA decoding though, and I think includes DirectCD.

Works fine for my brother. He loaded it and is using it with nothing special going on. He didn't want to pay for an upgrade to 5.x so he loaded his 4.01 on XP and it runs fine for him.

After all the headaches and easycd trashing my system they couldn't pay me to use easycd. So glad my new Yamaha came with Nero. Nero is a dream compared to easycd.
Still for those that like easycd, it's a good find.

I had problem w/ Easy CD Creator when I was using NT. But after that, no problem at all. Of sourse I keep updating it, just like what I am doing w/ my drivers.

i have a yamaha 8x and i left acraptec easy coaster creator because of all the buffer underruns. since i switch to nero, not one buffer underrun.
