what exams can be prepped for with a pod of routers and one or two layer two switches?

i have a decent sized router pod, and i'm hoping i can do more than the BSCI with it. i'm pretty sure i can do 642-661 BGP.

can i do, 642-642 QOS, and 642-611 MPLS? does the MPLS require access to a layer 3 switch?

if i can knock all these out with what i have, then i might as well go for my CCIP.

i really want to maximize my investment with this equipment. it really would be a shame if all i could do was prep for one exam.

with 3 routers and a few switches you can do just about anything.

At home I need just a little more (6 routers) for CCIE. Dude, in all honesty the CCNP tests are not that hard if you read the books and have a good working knowledge.

i have no remote access experience... at all.

let's assume, i need to work through labs, and reading alone won't cut it, how can i do the switching part w/o layer 3 switches?

a layer 3 switch is nothing more than a router.
;)

for remote access slap a modem on a router console/aux port.

so what's the difference with this port and the aux port?

also, won't i need something to simulate the dial tone? :)

yeah, a phone line silly.

For the most part there is no difference. one is line 0 the other is line 1. Console can take the break sequence to get into ROMMON as well as logging is copied to this line by default.

is there any cheap equipment that will simulate a tone?

i only have a single phone line, and tying it up, while i don't have any issues, won't be practical because of others.
