Router Troubles

I just got the Linksys BEFSR41 wired router and it keeps dropping the internet connection to the two pc's connected to it. It worked fine the first day I had it, but last night I had to reset it five times within two hours. I finally got sick of it and plugged this pc directly into the modem. Is there a problem with the router, or is it with my setup? Thanks!

No

Disabled

No option for it under current settings

Another thing. Why are my bittorrent downloads so slow when connected through the router? I tried enabling port forwarding, but it doesn't seem to help.

If using P2P, you may have too many concurrent conects thru the router. I had to reset my old Sonicwall Soho if I didn't limit my connects as it would frequently reach it's limit at 3,072.
I set my new Snapgear to 10,000 Concurrent connects (many routers/firewalls have a max and you can't change it). NO problems now.

I'll second the idea of updating the firmware. I have said router with firmware version 1.44.2 and have no troubles.

Updated the firmware, and so far the connection hasn't dropped.

Trying to set up port forwarding for p2p use, but I'm not sure what goes in the application box in the set up screen. Does it even matter? The box only has room for seven characters, so I'm not sure what they expect to fit in there (file name, title, process?).
