Here's my set-up:

Vigor2200USB - I've been using it over a year, works like a champ for three PCs sharing my DSL connection, that's all I use it for. Obviously because of my USB modem, this needs to stay where it is in my configuration.

I decided to go wireless (as before, just for sharing the DSL), and I bought a Siemens SpeadStream 2624 Wireless/DSL Router. I hooked it to one of the Ethernet ports on the Vigor, and have tried various configuration settings, but I can't even get to the config menu on the Siemens at all yet, so whatever it is I need to do I guess I haven't hit on it yet and my patience has run out. Could someone help me out with the configuration, both physical & especially the configuation settings of the two routers. Is this even possible?

I would appreciate any help I can get, thanks.

Important For the purpose of the initial setting, disable all software Firewalls (including WinXP native
ICF); disable any active Virus scan or any other utility that might intercept Network Traffic.

Write down the IP that is used to access the Vigor. Disconnect one of you computers from the vigor and plug it to a regular port on the SpeedStream. If the computer?s DHCP is On it will obtain an IP from the SpeedStream. Log into the SpeedStream and change the IP of the SpeedStream to be on the same subnet as the Vigor. After changing the IP disable the SpeedStream DHCP.

Plug the computer back to the Vigor, and plug the Speedstream to the Vigor using regular ports. If you have the SpeedStream with the Uplink switch you can use regular CAT5, otherwise you need crossover.

At this point you will be able to configure the SpeedStream as an Access Point. (Leave the SpeedStream WAN port open).

Thank you, JackMDS, one more question re:

Yes it has an Uplink switch and I have reg. CAT5... does the switch then need to be in Uplink or Normal?
