I'm pretty sure this will work, but I'm not sure.

Got a four-port wireless router. Can I put an eight-port switch on it? Will all 8 clients be served DHCP and have internet access?
 
What you're asking won't work at all, unless you use a crossover cable. With a crossover, it will work exactly like what you're wanting.
