Router suggestions..

Right now I'm using the SMC barracade 4 port.. I used linksys at work, both the wireless AP and the wireless ap with 3 port ethernet router..

I like the SMC due to it's print server feature, but linksys looks like it has cooler menu and more options...

Any suggestion for an all in 1 router ? Wireless + Print Server + Ethernet..

I had tried SMC wireless before and the signal was not good at all, might be a defected unit... Linksys seems 10x better...

is the SMC7004AWBR decent unit or should I look elsewhere ?

Conventional Wisdom* claims that the combination Orinoco Gold, SMC Wireless Router yield the best results in the Entry level category.

This link:
ORiNOCO PC Card - Gold.

There are no real big differences between the entry level Routers.

As can be seen in this link:

Wireless Routers Compared

The next level of Wireless equipment has stronger transmitters, and can achieve better Distance for the same bandwidth.

E.g. Cisco Aironet products, or the next level SMC 2682W.

However, the better equipment goes for more $$$.

I found that I needed more ethernet ports.. so I'm actually upgrading to a 8 Port barracade with the print server and adding 1 access point...

Dlink has a 20 rebate.. are dlink decent ?

Most people say crap ? some say great... any ideas ?

D-Link, and SMC, same OEM.

I think SMC packaged the OEM a little better, and better support.
