Router Random Reset

I have a Netgear N150 Wireless Router basically brand new and it resets and random intervals. I think that it might depend on what programs i have running. For instance when i play Games on the internet the connection resets. usually at random. But when im on IE it doesnt do it as much. Im running a coupld month old Dell XPS 430 stock 6 GB of RAM. If anyone can help i would love love love it i cant stand this reseting much longer.

What it means, the Router Reset?

Can you describe it in Network technological variables.

Im kind of a nooby idiot. So uh can you use smaller words?? lol please dont take me as a complete idiot just not very good with this type of thing.

When you say that it "resets":

1) Do you lose Internet access completely, or just in the program/game that is active?
2) Do the lights on the router actually all turn off and back on at the same time when it happens?
3) Does the Internet keep working but very slowly?
4) Or is it something not listed here? (in this case, please describe EXACTLY what happens when it "resets".

Im not sure what the Router does. Ill check next time. But when im in the middle of using Internet explorer intunes for example the little computer icons will say that the connection is local only and after about 30 seconds it will reconect. My itunes will say that the internet connection has reset the others just say that i lost connection.

quite using bittorent 🙂

Astounding revelation. *cough* Hope your other 3800 posts are a bit more helpful.

Anyway, to further get to the bottom of this, your programs are reporting a connection lost/reset, BUT, does the little computer icon ever report a network cable unplugged? Or does a red X go through the connection icon? If yes then it DOES indeed sound like your router is physically resetting.

If its not, then your ISP might be hiccuping completely in which case you would lose INTERNET, but not your actual NETWORK connection. Can you tell which of these scenarios you are in?

google netgear n150 reboot or netgear n150 drops out or netgear router sucks. you will find this is not so uncommon on this model.

Thanks Emulex and my icon is saying the its only local and i havnt bin home in couple days and leaving in 2 for at least 2 weeks so wont be ablem to check on it.
