Does my Linksys router slow my ability to play on counterstrike 3rd person games....resulting in some packet fluctuation or loss since the bandwidth coming though from my ISP has to split itself for lets say 4 computers at the same time? Was just wondering if a straight connect to my gaming computer from the cable modem will enhance my play?

well it depends, if all the comptuers are on the network/surfing the web at the same time youre playing yeah, they will take some of youre bandwidth and slow you down. If all machines are off or just not using the net then you have all the bandwidth and probably have a very similar speed in relation to you just being connected directly to the modem.

Think so Dam...I know I had someone ping my computer before but they couldn't get though the router and since counterstrike relies on packet information being sent to and fro the server I figured there had to be some loss trying to get though and back though the router with the information counterstrike needs to register hits and misses.
